Pole Pruner | Telescopic Pole Pruner | Pole Saw

If you need to prune branches high up in a tree, why not use a pole pruner.

There used to be no choice, you had to get out the ladders and your chain saw and climb up to the branch that needs lopping.

Now there is a choice and it comes in the form of a chain saw on the end of a pole. Much safer to prune trees with feet firmly on the ground than climbing a ladder.

Pole pruners are known by several names:

  • Pole pruner
  • Telescopic pole pruner
  • Pole saw
  • Telescopic tree pruner
  • Tree lopper
  • Telescopic tree lopper
  • Long reach pruner
  • Chainsaw on a stick (no, not really!)

There is a choice of petrol driven or electric pole pruners, very much a personal approach unless you have large orchards or woods to maintain and then the petrol version is more practical.

Depending on the model or your choice it is possible to cut branches 5 metres above the ground and so they are ideal for treetop work.
