If You Are Lawn Mowing and Want Stripes On Your Lawn Then Look At Cylinder Lawn Mowers for Sale

Looking for cylinder lawn mowers for sale and wondering what there is available and which is the best cylinder lawnmower for you and your garden? Here are some guidelines to help to find the cylinder lawn mower for sale that is right for your lawn.

Although you may have already made the decision that a cylinder lawn mower is the best tool to cut your grass it is worth just going over the differences between a cylinder and rotary mower.

Many people think that having a rotary mower means buying a hover mower. This is due to the heavy marketing at one time of the hover but rotary bladed mowers can be powered by electric or petrol and be wheeled. The other misconception is that a rotary bladed mower will not produce a lined finish to a lawn but this is not true. Many rotary lawnmowers have a rear roller that gives a striped finish but the blade cannot reproduce he clean cut of the scissor action cylinder mowers. On the other hand a rotary mower will cut longer grass, handle uneven surfaces, cut damp grass (not recommended if you want healthy grass) much better than a cylinder mower.

There is little doubt that a cylinder mower produces the highest quality cut and is the mower for fine lawns and sports turf. The blades on a a cylinder cut with a scissor action and amazingly this method of cut has been used since the first mechanical lawnmowers and has not been bettered. This result of the scissor action cylinder is a very fine cut with a striped finish. The other advantage is that a very low cut can be achieved as required for bowling greens.

Petrol cylinder lawn mowers for sale are available in many variations of size and power and this is reflected in the pricing. The wider the cutting cylinder the higher the price. The engine power rating also differs as does the engine manufacture although Briggs and Stratton, and Honda are very popular lawnmower engines.

There is quite a variety of cylinder lawn mowers electric models that range from the lightweight cylinder lawn mowers at the more affordable end of the market to heavy duty powerful models that will cope with the largest lawns. The upside is that they are easy to start but the downside can be the length of electric cable needed to cut large grassed areas.

But we must not forget the push cylinder lawn mowers that have served gardeners well for many years. It is certainly true that today there are many home owners who have never used a push cylinder lawn mower to cut their lawns due partly to the cheap (relatively speaking) electric lawn mowers that appeared on the market, whether that a hover or cylinder model. For smaller lawns a push cylinder mower can be ideal as long as the height of cut is set right and that the blades are regularly adjusted so that a good scissor action is achieved with the base plate.

The Internet provides an excellent opportunity to browse the cylinder lawn mowers for sale and compare both price and features.
